Vaccine #1 Done

So, I got my Covid Vaccine yesterday. I barely felt it. My arm at the injection site is sore this morning. But I did not grow a third eye and I don’t glow in the dark. I find it disappointing and disturbing that so many are afraid to take the vaccine. The Food and Drug Administration’s job is to evaluate medications for safety and effectiveness. The covid vaccines have been approved by the FDA. If they thought them unsafe they would not have approved them for use by the public. Historically, vaccines have been safe. They have been around for a very long time. The first vaccine ever was the small pox vaccine developed in 1796 by Dr. Edward Jenner. In 1972 the World Health Organization declared small pox had been eliminated. Protection from small pox is no longer needed and the vaccine is no longer given. We have known how to make vaccines for many decades and there are close to 100 in existence. Polio, tetanus, diptheria, pertussis, measles, rubella, mumps, hepatitis, pneumonia, shingles, meningitis, human papiloma virus(HPV), flu , ebola just to name a few. Google the history of vaccines, how they are made, how they work, vaccine safety etc. Do your own research.

Making vaccines is not a new science. We have had that recipe for a very long time and used it over and over to develop more vaccines. It was pretty much a matter of taking the recipe, tweaking and fine tuning it to be effective against Covid. This made it easy to fast track. The drawback is we don’t have time to assess long term effects. Hundreds of thousands have died and if we wait years for long term effects the death toll will be millions. Other vaccines have not had concerning long term effects. At one time there was concern that some childhood vaccines caused autism. After extensive studies there has been NO evidence to confirm that and FDA approved their continued use.

Being in the health care field I know many Physicians who have taken the vaccine and are recommending it for their patients. Their opinion has a definite influence on me as they are way more educated and informed than I. We have to trust the science, The benefits outweigh the risks. Do your own research and talk with your personal physician about their recommendations before you make your final decision.
